Club Links

The Partnership is working towards the Government target of the 5 hour offer. This is consists of young people taking part in 2 hours of curriculum physical education each week and 3 hours of sport and physical activity either in school or community clubs. In order for this to happen the Witchford Sports Partnership is working closely with Living Sport, The County Sports Partnership and the Sports Development Officers from East Cambridgeshire and Fenland to make links with community clubs. By doing this we create a pathway for young people from school sport into the community.

Two evenings have been organised, one at Thomas Clarkson Community College, Wisbech and the other at Witchford Village College, Witchford  to develop these links. The aim of the evening is to allow the young people to find out what clubs are in their local area and to meet representatives from the clubs. The clubs will offer not only information to the young people but also take part in demonstrations and offer ‘Come and Try’ sessions.

The Partnership will be making official links with the clubs in order to promote them to the schools in the area and to encourage the young people to go along.
